Insurance Assistance for Employers from A Licensed Insurance Agency
Health Insurance Broker, New Jersey
Jim is the owner and operator of a health insurance agency licensed with every carrier in the state of New York and the state of New Jersey. They’re licensed with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Oxford, Aetna, Cigna, National General Insurance, etc.
Marketplace Health Insurance
Jim offers individual health insurance and group health insurance which means any company that has two or more employees, or could even be a husband or wife. Their specialty is in the small group marketplace, which would be 2-50 enrollees. But they are also licensed in the large group marketplace, which would be 50 plus which is a different market. The focus is to stick in the small group marketplace where they need 75% participation. This means if you had 10 full-time employees, you need 25 or more hours to be registered as a full-time employee.
If you have 10 full-time employees and 5 have insurance through their spouse (or have it through their parents or on Medicare), they would only need 3 of the other 5 to be compliant. That would mean you're 8 out of 10. Valid waivers count as a good number. If you don't have a valid waiver, it counts as a refusal. And refusals count as a bad number. A lot of time, refusals are employees that don't want health insurance, whether they can't afford it or something of that magnitude.
